Where I was before Italy:  Latvia

Information on documentation, visas, permanence, security and much more for Brazilian consular Portal.

Tourist information, official website of the government of Italy.

Where I’m going next: Austria.

Bologna

Now that I had been as far north as possible I came to Italy, the most southern of Europe, to return to the north again by land, so I took a plane to Bologna.

Bologna is a vibrant city, like a lot of history. Each building has a history of hundreds of years.

The world’s first university was founded here in 1088.

Italy is known for its food and good wines, that is, a prediction.

It is impossible to walk around the city without stopping for cheese, sausages and wine, as well as ice cream.

I went to visit Florence, which is an hour away by train.

After a few days and the batteries recharged from Brazil, it’s time to head north. Next stop Vienna.

My special thanks to my friend Milton, Ruth, Heitor and Tião (the dog) too.

Florence

Florence has history since the Romans, there are very old buildings.

It has gone through countless wars and invasions and has a diverse architecture, important churches like Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, Basilica di San Lorenzo, Florence Cathedral and many others like Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Duomo.

You need several days to be able to see everything.

You can basically walk around the city, as the main attractions are all close by.

I walked all day and now it’s time to go back to Bologna.

Now it’s time to go north: Austria

Ready? Then let's hit the road...

Book your flight.

Finding cheap flights can be difficult and stressful, but with the tips from the Blog and using Skyscanner or Google flights, the task can even be enjoyable.

Today, these are the most complete tools on the market

Book your accommodation.

With that in mind, it’s time to choose your accommodation.

The best tool is Booking.com.

For those who are going to use hostels, the best tool is Hostelworld.

I have used both very often and always find the best prices.

Get your insurance

Insurance is something we never want to use, but it is traumatic if we need it and don’t have it.

It will cover the costs of any eventuality of illness, injury, theft and/or cancellations of tickets, hotels, etc.

I have used WorldNomads or Assistcard, which always have the insurance with the coverage that travelers need, in addition to having coverage worldwide.
