Where I’m going next: Malaysia

Singapore – A brief history.

Today, it is a wealthy nation and one of the city-states (Vatican, Monaco and Singapore).

Initially it was a community of Malaysian fishermen, in the throat of the Singapore River.

In 1819 the British East India Company, led by Sir Stamford Raffles, created an administration, which acted as a port on the spice route.

The city has become one of England’s most significant commercial and war centers in Southeast Asia.

In the second world war it was in the possession of the Japanese, but in 1945 England rescued Singapore, which, in 1963, gained its autonomy, joining Malaya.

After two years, however, the city was emancipated and became an independent republic on August 9, 1965.

The city-state is good first world surprise in Asia.

Singapore is a city that although it is in Asia has for many years the influence of the British and has become a very important port over the years.

Today it has the modernity and infrastructure of the best cities in the world.

From the airport everything is first class.

I went to visit Marina bay, Flyer, ChinaTown and part of the Formula 1 circuit, among others.

Downtown

The city center is a mixture of the most modern buildings and shopping malls with tradition.

Running away from downtown

To escape the city center.

A good option is the botanical garden.

Also on the other side of the city, there is the garden by the bay, which is a mix of nature and artificiality.

Another great example is the island of Sentosa, a kind of Asian Disneyland. More information here

Your next trip starts here

Ready? Then let's hit the road...

Book your flight.

Finding cheap flights can be difficult and stressful, but with the tips from the Blog and using Skyscanner or Google flights, the task can even be enjoyable.

Today, these are the most complete tools on the market

Book your accommodation.

With that in mind, it’s time to choose your accommodation.

The best tool is Booking.com.

For those who are going to use hostels, the best tool is Hostelworld.

I have used both very often and always find the best prices.

Get your insurance

Insurance is something we never want to use, but it is traumatic if we need it and don’t have it.

It will cover the costs of any eventuality of illness, injury, theft and/or cancellations of tickets, hotels, etc.

I have used WorldNomads or Assistcard, which always have the insurance with the coverage that travelers need, in addition to having coverage worldwide.
