Split
Split promenade

The day was dedicated to getting to know Split and making arrangements to visit one of the main attractions: the Blue Caves.

Split is the second largest city in Croatia, founded in the 3rd century BC by Greece and lived between empires during its years of history.

In its history it was from the Roman Empire and later the Byzantine Empire

In the modern age it belonged to the Ottomans, the Austrian Empire and was part of Italy during the second world war and was occupied by Germany soon after.

It was from Yugoslavia until independence from Croatia in 1991, the city became Croatian territory.

The historic center has many attractions.

We arranged our tour to visit the Blue caves and other islands like Hvar.

Trogir

We went to Trogir, the second largest city in Croatia about 30 minutes from Split

Trogir is a small medieval town located on an island known as Little Venice, with many historical attractions, impressive architecture and picturesque landscapes. Dating back to the 3rd century BC.

Visits to islands near Split

The day dawned very beautiful and we will spend the day between the islands.

We took a boat and went to Bisevo Island, where the main attraction Blue Cave is located.

When we arrived there was a huge queue and we went to the other side of the island at Porat beach to wait our turn.

When our turn came, we went back and went to the Blue cave, which is a tiny entrance in the rocks.

The blue color is due to an opening at the bottom of the rocks where sunlight passes through, turning everything blue.

Our next stop is Mlini beach, with stunning translucent turquoise waters, stony seabed and pristine white pebble beach.

We stopped in the middle where we swam with the little fish.

Island of hvar

The third stop is the island of Hvar:

One of the largest islands in Croatia and home to several attractions, in addition, it is a destination with several beaches and is very popular for parties and ballads that only end with the dawn.

We went to visit the little town, had lunch and then enjoyed the beaches.

Tomorrow we go to our main objective in Croatia:  Dubrovnik.

Ready? Then let's hit the road...

Book your flight.

Finding cheap flights can be difficult and stressful, but with the tips from the Blog and using Skyscanner or Google flights, the task can even be enjoyable.

Today, these are the most complete tools on the market

Book your accommodation.

With that in mind, it’s time to choose your accommodation.

The best tool is Booking.com.

For those who are going to use hostels, the best tool is Hostelworld.

I have used both very often and always find the best prices.

Get your insurance

Insurance is something we never want to use, but it is traumatic if we need it and don’t have it.

It will cover the costs of any eventuality of illness, injury, theft and/or cancellations of tickets, hotels, etc.

I have used WorldNomads or Assistcard, which always have the insurance with the coverage that travelers need, in addition to having coverage worldwide.
